Cocoa Beach Florida is a tiny city located on a narrow bit of land known locally as the barrier island, but this little place is packed with fun and exciting attractions. WhatsCheaper.com implores you to take a kayak to one of the many small islands, or take a step back in time at the Dinosaur Store, either way you will encounter entrancing sites and easy going people.

A quaint place built for the people, Cocoa Beach was established in 1925. The settlers, even then could not get enough of the beach, thus surfing became a huge sport. In order to have easy access to their favorite spot, the locals placed a road running parallel to the seashore. Because the city is mostly residential, many of the shops and restaurants are owned and operated by those same people who love the warm sand and gentle surf. One major business sprung up here, and that is Ron Jon’s Surf Shop: a world famous surf apparel company only found here. The three story building is open 24 hours a day, because the surf never sleeps.

As you drive down this road WhatsCheaper.com suggests picking one of the smaller streets that jut out from it to travel down, when you do, it will be only seconds before you arrive at the Banana River. Along the banks of this river are small huts that double as businesses and dwellings for the proprietors. All that you could want for a day at the beach or traversing the river is right here, from snorkeling and scuba diving equipment to kayaks and surfboards.

If the water does not appeal to you Cocoa Beach as many land marks that WhatsCheaper.com recommends. In the middle of the city is a nine and a half-foot bronze monument dedicated to a boy who was born in Cocoa Beach and became a ten time world champion surfer by the name of Kelly Slater. A museum called the Dinosaur Store houses the world’s largest collection of fossils all collected by a local amateur paleontologist. If wild life is what you like walk the trails of Lori Wilson Park. A nature preserve with informative placards about the life you will see around you under the canopies of large palm trees and ferns.

Whether strolling through the evergreens or rowing the glassy waters you will notice the odd creatures. Among them are the meandering Manatee, the squawking Blue Heroin, and the adorable Love Bugs, information on each species is available at the information buildings dotted all over the city. These places also offer discounted tickets to near-by attractions.

The night life here is excellent, because it is organized by the locals. If you are looking for a movie in the park or a nice evening at the theater Cocoa Beach has something for everyone. The restaurants created by the cities residence are superbly designed and the food is delicious. For a calm, romantic Italian dinner WhatsCheaper.com hopes you enjoy the fine dining found at Brano’s. Those patrons that are interested in a beach feel, nothing is more so than Coconuts. Located right on the beach, it has the all American classics as far as food and live bands.

WhatsCheaper.com is proud to help make your beach vacation dreams a reality. Whether it’s riding a wave or exploring nature Cocoa Beach will prove to be worth the trip.
